Fredericksburg Battlefield, Fredericksburg VA
Fredericksburg Battlefield, Fredericksburg VA

This modest marker stands at the right anchor of General "Stonewall" Jackson's line, which stretched along Prospect Hill. The nearby trail, known as Harrison's Crossing, led to the supply base for the Southern army during the Fredericksburg Campaign after the depot in town came within range of Union artillery. This headstone sits in a cul-de-sac at the end of a long road running parallel to the RFP Railroad. It is one of the more secluded and meditative spots on the entire battlefield, as well as my favorite.
